UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown will open a Women’s Health Outreach Clinic on January 13, 2020, inside its Multi-Specialty Clinic at 407 E. Main Street in Marshalltown. The outreach clinic, located in the former Women’s Health Clinic location adjacent to the hospital, will see patients from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Monday.
The outreach clinic is the result of a partnership with UnityPoint Health facilities in Des Moines and Waterloo. It is anticipated the clinic will add additional days of operation in the future.
“We are pleased to bring midwives to the Marshalltown community. Prenatal care is important and staying local is more convenient for our patients and their families,” said Sarah Brown, UnityPoint Health Ambulatory Vice President.
The midwives in the Women’s Health Outreach Clinic will provide care such as:
Initial OB visits
Routine prenatal care
Screenings and vaccinations
These midwives will also be instrumental in transitioning care to birthing centers in surrounding cities and connecting families with pediatric providers at UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown. Among the providers in the new clinic will be Autumn Schmoker, ARNP, and Melissa Koch, ARNP, who previously provided women’s care in Marshalltown.
