Roger Green didn’t realize how much his quality of life would improve until he visited UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown.
“I was in a lot of pain and I was really uncomfortable,” says Green. “I had my right hip replaced but the pain still persisted.”
Doctors determined Green also had a herniated disk in his back that needed repair. He had the surgery at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital in Waterloo but also recognizes the great care he received near his Montour home.
“I’m eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses at UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown,” explains Green. “They saw how miserable I was and wanted to help.”
“Roger had a total hip replacement and we also repaired his herniated disk,” says Arnold Delbridge, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with UnityPoint Health. “Roger is a great patient and I’m excited to see what this new quality of life will bring to him and his family.”
“I’m beyond grateful for the care and compassion I had at Marshalltown,” says Green. “I understand it’s a long recovery process but I was in good hands.”
After the surgery Green participated in physical therapy at UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown to increase his strength and endurance.
“The convenience of this hospital is great and the people know me,” Green states. “They always smile when they see me, and they push me because they know I want to get better. It makes you feel good. Nobody wants to go to the hospital but if you have to go, at least you see friendly, smiling faces.”
