MARSHALLTOWN -- Christopher Hawkins, RN, BSN, of State Center, has been appointed Director of Nursing with UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown. Hawkins was most recently the Director of the following patient care units; Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Wound Care and Nursing Administration at Central Iowa Healthcare, now known as UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown.
Hawkins’ six years of direct Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing experience and nine years of nursing leadership includes Manager of Critical Care and Emergency Services at Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska. He also served as Clinic Manager of the Medical Surgical Department at Memorial Community Hospital and Health Systems (Alegent Health) in Blair, NE.
Hawkins began his healthcare career in 1998 and received his BSN from Creighton University. He completed the Iowa Valley Leadership Program in 2014.
