Q. Where are you from originally?
Q. Why did you become a provider?
A. Curiosity and compassion. The first came naturally as a nerdy kid. The second I have been striving to cultivate. Medicine felt like a good fit.
Q. What qualities best describe the care you provide to patients?
A. I try my best to listen and treat each patient like I would friend or family, reminding myself that patients may be feeling at their worst and most vulnerable in the emergency room.
Q. Are there any fun facts you would like the community to know about you?
A. I have awful rhythm, but I love to country line dance and swing dance with my wife.
Q. What are your hobbies and personal interests?
A. Spending time with my wife, Cath. She makes anything exponentially more fun. Tinkering around the house and trying to learn basic car maintenance. Learning as much as I can through books and with my hands. Volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters and at a community supported garden.
Q. List your education, medical school and certifications:
A. I received my bachelor of arts in biochemistry at Augustana College (IL) in 2010. Completed medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2015. Finished family medicine residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines in 2018. Certified in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NRP.
